New York City

Recently I travelled to one of my favorite
places, New York City!

Throughout my life I’ve had the opportunity to
visit the city many times – my first time being when I was only 3!

I love going back as I ALWAYS discover new and
exciting things that I want to share! Normally I revisit some of the more touristy
attractions (museums, art galleries, etc.), but since I was travelling with my
mom (who is also an avid traveller to NYC) we decided to spend most of our time
at some of our favorite spots and explore new places!

We stayed at the Roxy Hotel  formerly known as the Tribeca Grand. It turned
out to be a great location. Right
on the border of SoHo and TriBeCa, we were able to walk to many bars, restaurants
and shops easily. Plus, it was located near a subway station.

Of course, I did some
shopping while I was there, but not as much as I usually do – the Canadian
dollar (which is kinda sucky now) held me back! Regardless, it is still fun to
window shop in NYC, as the window displays are filled with the latest fashion
trends and the exterior/interior designs of the stores are incredible! Plus, NYC
is one of the few cities where you can find almost any store you desire!

Some of my favorite spots
we hit up were:

CaféSFA at Saks Fifth Avenue was one of my Nana’s favorite spots to eat, so it’s a
place that I will always revisit and cherish. It’s a great place to take a
shopping break and grab a drink or a bite to eat!

in Soho I mean who doesn’t love a good macaron?

LouisVuitton in SoHo is a must for me too. This time around
I got to meet one of the artists that does the custom work on the trunks and
bags! It was super interesting to learn about their process and techniques. How
fun of a job would that be?

Saint Laurent that is located in SoHo on Greene Street is one
of the prettiest stores I have ever seen – the white marble walls had me

Some of the new places we discovered were:

SprinklesCupcake ATM as they are only located in select locations throughout the USA! If you didn’t
know already they are the world’s first ATM that dispenses freshly baked
cupcakes and cookies 24/7! Is that not the most amazing thing?

byCHLOE a new 100% vegan fast-food joint located at the corner of Bleecker and
MacDougal Street. The exterior/interior design of the restaurant was super cute
and the food was great too!

I finally got to check out Jack’s Wife Fredawhich I think is a must if you’re in NYC. The breakfast is delicious!

If you’re ever in the Polo Ralph Lauren flagship
store on 5th Ave and in need for a shopping pick-me-up head to Ralph’s Coffee on the 2nd floor!
Their coffee is delicious (I would definitely go back)!

Le Labo on Elizabeth Street. I was so happy to finally visit one of their shops! I
basically LOVE everything they have but my top-picks for scents are Santal 33,
Lys 41 and Jasmin 17.

Some of the best places to grab a cocktail were:

TheGordon Bar located on the 2nd floor of the SIXTY SoHo hotel was a really chill bar.
The cocktails were delish and I also fell in LOVE with the interior!

TheStandard Grill at The
Standard Hotel in Meatpacking District was a fun spot! We really like
the patio and the drinks and food were great as well.

GrandBar & Lounge which is location on the 2nd floor of the Soho Hotel which is the
sister hotel to The Roxy hotel where we stayed.
It was a fun spot and they had a great wine selection.

TheNOMO Soho bar was by far our favorite bar, as we ended up there every night! The interior was
gorgeous, I wish I could have taken one of their chandeliers home!  They had my mom’s favorite wine, so we will
definitely be staying here the next time we are in NYC! I had previously stayed
here when it was called the Mondrian Soho and it was fantastic. Seriously
though, what’s with all these name changes?

Aside from all the shopping, eating and
drinking, I was also able to meet up with one of my longtime friends and fellow
blogger, Yvette of Ms YOLEE. It was great to see her
and to catch up!

All in all it was a great getaway! We had
perfect weather, checked out some new places, ate great food and did some
shopping. Plus, I love hanging out with my mom! She’s one funny lady – think
Joan Rivers, no lie!

If you’re going to NYC or have some tips for the
next time I’m there let me know in a comment!

Thanks for reading!
