I often get asked what my favorites are, especially what Diptyque one I like. I’ve written a couple of posts about candles in the past, one solely about Diptyque and the other about different luxury candles. Though those are both 4 years old, so I thought it was high time I did an updated post.
So here we go!
Diptyque, my 5 favorites are,
Mimosa – Inspired by the mimosa flower in the French Riviera. It just smells so fresh and floral, I love it!
34 Boulevard Saint Germain – Pays homage to Diptyque’s first boutique’s address in Paris. Fragrance notes: Damp mosses, blackcurrant leaves and sun-dried fig leaves.
Choisya – Inspired by the famous Mexican orange flower – so fresh and floral. I originally discovered this scent when I was at Sketch in London; they had this candle on the bar and lining the staircase.
Figuier – Fig Tree scent – for some reason this scent always brings me back to my childhood and being at the McMichael Art gallery day camp. I’m not sure why because I’m quite sure there were no fig trees there.
Cyprès – Mediterranean cypress and warm notes of honey and resin, I especially love this candle in the fall and around the holidays. It just smells like a fresh cypress tree.
Fleur Fantôme – Fragrance notes: Lemon Petitgrain Leaves, Rhubarb, Tulip Extract, Violet Leaves, Galbanum Heliotrope and Suede. To me it’s very floral, defiantly my favorite candle from Byredo.
Cotton Poplin – Fragrance notes: Blue Chamomile, Linen, White Cedarwood and Sweet Musk. To me this is very fresh scent; it smells similar to their Blanche perfume, in that it has a fresh linen scent to it which I love.
English Pear and Freesia – Fragrance notes: Pears, White Freesias, Amber, Patchouli and Wood. One of my all-time favorite scents, I also love the perfume and body wash.
Orange Blossom – Fragrance notes: Clementine Leaves, Orange Blossom, Water Lily, with warm undertones of Orris and Balsamic Vetiver. Kate Middleton used this candle as her signature scent at her royal wedding to Prince William.
Écorce Rousse – Fragrance notes: Leather, Cedar wood, and Vanilla
L’air du Jardin – Fragrance notes: Rose, it literally smells like you have fresh roses in your home. I just love it!
Le Labo, PETIT GRAIN 21– Fragrance notes: Orange Blossom with luscious green undertones. This is a perfect candle to keep in your kitchen; it really cuts through any cooking or baking smells. This would make for a great housewarming gift.
Lohn, Zima – Fragrance notes: Bergamot, Black Pepper, Black Tea, Clove, Amber and Vanilla
Tom Ford, White Suede – Fragrance notes: Musk Medley, which is heightened with Velvety Rose and Amber
Trudon, PROLÉTAIRE – Lily of the Valley – last but certainly not least, this Trudon candle is one of my all-time favorite candles. Lily of the Valley has been my favorite scent since I was a child. I use to have a little garden in the backyard when I was a kid, where I grew Lily of the Valley. Fragrance notes: Muguet, Verdure, Rose, Ylang-Ylang and Musc.
