Weekend at the Drake Devonshire Inn

If you live in Toronto, you've most likely heard of the Drake hotelYou've likely gone there for brunch on the weekend, drinks on their rooftop patio aka "the Sky Yard" or seen one of your favorite bands play in the basement of the hotel aka the "Underground”.  If you haven't been, I highly recommend going!

The Drake has been a favorite spot of mine for years, so when I heard they were opening another boutique hotel in Prince Edward County (PEC) I was really excited. I knew PEC was a fun area on the water and home to some great wineries. I couldn't wait to check it out! I finally got to go this past March, which is crazy because the Drake Devonshire has been open for almost 2 years!

Turks and Caicos

I recently went to Providenciales in the Turks and Caicos Islands. I went down for a bachelorette party for one of my besties, Lauren. We stayed at the WestBay Club on Grace Bay Beach. We (there were 12 girls in total!) had an amazing time hanging out in the sun.
Now I’m back in Toronto and sadly I didn’t bring the sun back with me : ( We’re getting severe rain here and I’m getting rainfall warnings on my weather app! So I thought I’d share some of my pics to hopefully take away some of those rainy day blues.
I would highly recommend going to Providenciales, there are some great places to eat and stay, the people there were so friendly and it was only a 3.5 hour flight from Toronto! Grace Bay beach where we stayed and all the other beaches we went to were beautiful. I’ve also never seen such crystal blue water in my life – it seriously looked like blue Gatorade! I hope you like my photos and that this rain goes away!

See more photos below and as always thanks for reading!

Prom Ready

ANASTASIA BEVERLY DIPBROW Pomade
CHARLOTTE TILBURY Hot LipsLipstick in Kim K.W.

Over the weekend I visited Square One Mall for their Prom Day #SQ1Prom. Some of you may have caught my insta stories shopping around the mall for prom dresses, shoes, accessories and, of course, makeup! Even though I know how important it is to find your perfect dress, I know oh too well how hard it can be. It’s always the way when I’m looking for a dress I can’t find one and when I don’t need one and the event is long done, I find like 3 dresses! Ugh – anyways don’t stress over it, whether it’s your prom or any other special event where you want to look your best, I've listed some of my favorite tried and true makeup products I love using on myself and clients and are sure to give you that prom (or any event) ready look! And below are some tips I thought I’d share with you that will hopefully help you with your prom or any other big event.

My Winter Getaway at The Northridge Inn

As you may remember, back in the summer I went glamping at a resort in Muskoka, Ontario called The Northridge Inn (to check out that post click HERE). Over the past year, I’ve grown to LOVE glamping, I also glamped in Marfa, Texas last year (to check out that post click HERE).

Anyways, back to The Northridge Inn… I wanted to do something outdoorsy this winter season and thought why not go back to The Northridge Inn, since I loved it so much back in the summer. The list of activities they offer in the winter months are endless, luckily I went up on a long weekend, though I could have stayed the week!

We (my bf and I) went ice fishing, horseback riding, show shoeing, and dog sledding! Our days were non-stop, we really should have scheduled in some naps!

Why I'm Loving To112

I love trying out and learning about different hair and body care products. Let’s be honest, if you already follow me on Instagram I’m sure you can see I’m a bit of a beauty junkie, my washroom is overflowing with products but I can’t seem to part with any!
I’ve recently been loving the TO112 hair and body care line which is made in Canada and certified by the Leaping Bunny program as a cruelty-free line. Every To112 product is also free of SLS, DEA and Parabens.

All of the liquid products in the hair and body care collections are based on Tamanu Oil as the key functional ingredient to heal and nourish the hair and body. They are made with consciously selected ingredients that are as natural as possible while still having the desired result achieved in its use.

If that all wasn’t reason enough to be into this line the reason why I’ve been loving this line and wanted to share it with you is that TO112 products are infused with love, that’s right LOVE!

All liquid To112 products have been charged with the potent sound frequency of 528 hertz. Known as the Frequency of Love, (how amazing is that?!) this cherished frequency encourages DNA repair and improves health as it brings balance and love to the body with every personal cleansing ritual (shower). The products are stored in this Singing Room for maximum potency. So you’re literally bathing in love!

Wedding Makeup

I love doing makeup and being able to showcase someone’s natural beauty. Being able to be part of someone’s wedding day doing makeup and/or hair makes me very happy, as it’s always such a special and happy day. I have been lucky enough to work with some amazing brides and bridal parties over the years as well as some great hairstylist and photographers, one of them being my sister Erin Leydon.
This year one of my goals is to get a new website to showcase my makeup and hair work but in the meantime I thought I would share some photos here on my blog. I also have a new instagram account @MakeupByTaraLeydon (check it out and follow! Yay!) that will just feature my makeup and hair work as well as makeup products I love and use on myself and clients. I will still of course share some of these photos on my main instagram account @TaraLeydon but I thought it would be best to have a separate account so I could share more photos of my work.

If you or someone you know is getting married soon and needs a makeup artist or if you need your makeup done for a special event or photo shoot, email me at tara_leydon@hotmail.com.
