As most of you know – if you follow me on Instagram – I
have a bit of an obsession with candles. Not only are they great visual
centerpieces for a table or on a shelf, but they also leave your rooms smelling
fresh and clean! Plus, even if they don’t give off heat they give the illusion
of warmth, which is nice especially during the cold winter season. And, now
that the holidays are fast approaching, a candle can be a small (yet perfect)
gift for someone on your list. Here are a few (OK, more than a few, but I
couldn’t help myself) of my favorite luxury candle brands.
Byredo Which is actually the sister company of Diptyque, hence why I was
already IN LOVE before I smelt anything. If you’ve ever been to one of their
counters you will know how AMAZING their perfume is (I have a couple of them on
my Christmas wish list!). Their candles are just as beautifully scented. I also
really like how simple, yet elegant their black and white packaging is too.
Bond No. 9 This also is a perfume and candle line. What is so cool about this
brand is that each fragrance represents a specific downtown, midtown, or uptown
location in NYC. I have the Chelsea Flowers candle and it smells like a fresh
floral bouquet! Even after I blow it out I can still smell it the next day.
Although I’m tempted to try other candles from this line, I would definitely
purchase this one again!
Missoni Now who here doesn’t adore Missoni?!?! I have LOVED their
signature zigzag designs for years, so when they started their home décor line
I was super excited. The great thing about these candles is that they smell
fantastic and their price point is affordable (well for something from
Missoni). I mean even if they were scent free I would have still bought one for
its beautiful packaging!
Jonathan Adler If you are a home décor enthusiast you will most likely already be
familiar with Jonathan Adler. His unique and eclectic approach to design is
something I greatly admire. His Muse pottery collection is A-MAAAZING, so when
I found out there was a candle I immediately purchased it! He does
have other candles available, but this one is by far my fave!
Fornasetti Even though I am not super familiar with the rest of this line, I
do know that I love the look and design of their candles. I specifically like
how their aesthetic combines eclectic, chic, and gothic elements, which a lot
of my other home décor is inspired by! Although these candles are quite a bit
more expensive than some of the other ones I have listed here, I think they are
more than worth it because they are a work of art in themselves. Plus, you can
reuse the holder once the candle is finished!
Le Labo Last, but certainly not least, I also LOVE the Le Labo candles.
Actually, let’s be honest I love the whole Le Labo line! I feel like their
scents are so unique. My favorite candle is Santel 26. I have it in both the
classic glass, as well as one of the vintage tin holders.
any of these candles would make a great gift for someone on your list or even a
little treat for yourself! I know I would love to see one or two (OK, maybe
three or four) of these under my tree this year!
here are a couple of little tips when it comes to candles…

time before you burn a candle trim the wick so you avoid any black smoke and
residue on the glass/container.
preserve the fragrance, do not burn your candle for more than 3-4 hours at a
remember to remove any wick debris after you’ve blown out the candle and be
sure to keep burning the wick in the middle of the container.
love to hear what your favorite luxury candles are or if you purchase any of
these! Thanks for reading.
