I recently visited The Northridge Inn over the Labour Day weekend. This eclectically designed
boutique resort is located in a town called Strong, just 30mins from
Huntsville, ON in the Muskoka area.
Awarded one of the Top 25 Boutique Hotels in Canada by Trip
Advisor, it really is the perfect getaway. With a total of 27 accommodations,
including: 20 Lodges, 4 Lakeside Chalets and 3 Luxury Tents (that’s what we
stayed in) it has venue options for anyone’s needs!
“Glamping” may be my new fave
activity! Earlier this year, I went “glamping” at El Cosmico in Marfa, Texas, so
this was my second time. It was just as much fun as the first time,
specifically because the Luxury Tents at Northridge were all so uniquely
decorated – which of course I LOVED! All the tents have electricity, are roomy,
and located at the edge of the forest and beachfront, so you’re overlooking the
water. It was SO pretty and peaceful!
Although it was great to be able to walk right out onto the beach,
they also had a gorgeous pool, where we ended spending most of our time. They
also have a lounge and restaurant that offers daily breakfast, lunch, dinner,
and brunch on the weekends. I’m not a food critic, but I really like the food –
the BLT wrap was my fave!
The resort also has games scattered around the property,
including: bocce ball and croquet. I tried my hand in a few, but really just
wanted to relax and work on my tan!
Luckily, if you
are more of an active/adventurous person they offer bike, canoe, and kayak
rentals, as well as offsite activities like: horseback riding and golfing. In
the winter they also offer offsite dog sledding, snowmobiling, ice fishing,
cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing! I will definitely have to go back
sometime in the winter!
I had a great
time at The Northridge Inn and plan to go back!
